Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Relaxer Retouch.
We recommend retouches every 6–8 weeks depending on your growth rate and hair health. Relaxer Retouch treats up to 2 1/2 inches of new growth; scheduling sooner preserves consistent texture and prevents overlapping on previously relaxed hair.
If your new growth exceeds 2 1/2 inches we’ll discuss options during consultation. A full relaxer or additional product may be recommended and an upcharge applied. Safety and hair integrity guide our decision to avoid overprocessing.
When applied correctly only to roots, a Relaxer Retouch won’t alter previously relaxed lengths. Our stylists perform strand tests and monitor timing to minimize damage. Maintain regular conditioning and trims to support healthy, consistent texture between services.
Deep conditioning is highly recommended, especially if hair shows dryness or porosity. The Relaxer Retouch includes a basic wash and set; add a targeted deep-conditioning treatment or protein service for optimal strength and moisture at an additional cost.
Appointments typically last 60 to 90 minutes depending on hair length, density, and whether additional relaxer is needed. Allow extra time for consultations, strand testing, or requested add-on treatments like deep conditioning or trim services.
Aftercare includes waiting 48–72 hours before shampooing, using sulfate-free products, and regular deep conditioning. Limit heat styling initially and protect hair with leave-ins and trims. Follow stylist recommendations to extend the retouch’s longevity and hair health.
